Chapter 3- Harry's Got Mail

Ok, today we see what happens when Harry doesn't  get his letters.
The book
This chapter starts with Petunia dying some of Dudley's old clothes for Harry to wear to his new publuc school. Then Harry goes to get the mail, and gets his first Hogwarts letter. Before he can open it, Dudley takes it and shows it to Vernon, who is concerned and shares it with Petunia. What follows could best be described as an exercise in futility. Vernon moves Harry to Dudley's storage room for all his toys, only to have the address change on the letter. Vernon boards up the mailslot, only to have the fireplace fill up with letters. Even the milk bottles have letters in them. Finally, Vernon tells the family they're ghoing on vacation. At the first hotel they stop at , another letter appears. Vernon finally takes them to a remote island, chaperoned by a toothless man. Rowling obviously knows her Greek mythlology, as this ovbviously represents the river Styx and the passage across it. In the cabin on the island, Harry counts down the minutes, then the seconds till his birthday. At exactly midnight, a loud knock comes at the door
Pottermore
There is no extra content in this chapter. You just collect random items-salt and pepper shaker, a postcard, etc. The fireplace does spew out letters when u click on it. I'll be back Friday to discuss how Harry's life changeas forever with the loud knock.
